
I have not come close to training as much as I need to. Life has overtaken and training has fallen
short..
But this coming Sunday I will be there and I will cross the finish line even if I have to crawl. It's really
hard when I've started this running epidemic in Tokoroa, and not being a natural runner myself,
it's been hard to see people just start with running and then I get blitzed by them. I guess I have to
resign to the fact that I'm like Kerre Woodham in her book Short fat chick to Marathon Runner – I'm
not a natural runner, I definitely don't have the body for it but I will make it. I'm that determined
that I will cross the finish line but when people ask me for what time I'm going for I don't have one –
I just want to finish.
So I could say this is my rest week but pretty much the last 2 months has been a rest – I have
struggled to fit training in with running but on Sunday I will drag my short fat body around a half
marathon track and I will cross the finish line even if I'm crawling.
