Incorporates Athletics New Zealand Half Marathon Championships 2010
This year’s event doubles as the Athletic New Zealand Half Marathon Championships. ALL entrants who indicated on the entry that they are currently registered athletes will be eligible for Athletics New Zealand Championship medals.
Prizegiving
Prize giving will be at 1:30pm, at the conclusion of the race. Note that official timekeeping concludes 3hrs 30m after race start. Masters 40-49 and 50+ age group prize winners who finish in the top 8 open men or open women will be awarded one prize only, that being the prize of the greatest value.
Spot prizes
All finishers present at the prize giving are eligible for one of our many spot prizes, including the major prizes. Major spot prizes will be drawn from the timing transponders collected at the finish. Minor spot prize vouchers will be handed out in the finish chute.
Race results and certificates
A time clock will be situated at the finish and the 10km point. Race results will be posted to www.huntlyhalf.co.nz shortly after the event. Electronic certificates will be emailed to all finishers who supply an email address.
Race numbers and timing transponders
Entry confirmation details and race numbers (and IPICO timing transponder) will be posted to all entrants in the week before the race to the address you enter on the entry form. These are to be pinned on the front of your singlet. The Hamilton City Hawks have invested in an IPICO timing system to speed up production of race results. Please return the timing transponder at the finish. Results will include both gun time and mat times. Category placings will be awarded on gun times only. All non-returned timing chips will be charged to you at $50.
Walkers
Entrants taking part in the Solid Energy Half Marathon Walk will start in a designated area behind the runners. Walkers must walk the entire event. Entrants intending to Walk/Run must enter the Half Marathon Run. We rely on entrants' integrity in this please. The first three male and female walkers will receive merit prizes (this will be unjudged). Results will include age group placings for entrants in the walk.
Wheelchairs
Unfortunately, there will be no wheelchair section in this year’s event as the course is not suitable.
T-shirts
A quality Mizuno Performance Tee T-shirt can be ordered with your entry. These will be distributed on race day. A limited number of T-shirts will be sold on race day, so be in early.
Parking
Please follow the signage from SH1. Parking is available at Huntly Primary School.
Drink stations
Drink stations will be situated at the 5km, 8km, 11km, 14km, 16km, 19km and finish. Water and Balance Sports Nutrition products will be available at drink stops, and the finish.
